Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $637,000,000 Tuesday night; 1 second prize ticket sold

The Mega Millions game jackpot has jumped up to a projected $637,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$278 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Tuesday night. The jackpot amount has been carried over because no player matched all 5 lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number to take the $604,000,000 jackpot Friday night. The numbers from Friday night, July 10th, 2026 were 02-39-44-46-56 with Mega Ball number 23 and Megaplier X. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 135 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
While the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a sole second prize winner from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Also, 10 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday night included 197 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 577 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 741,382 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, July 10th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a shared jackpot game. It holds the record highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players through prizes. Around 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses.
