Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $453,000,000; Two tickets matched the first 5 numbers

The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $453,000,000. The cash option will be an estimated $$209.6 million. The prize amount was rolled over since nobody matched all 6 numbers in Tuesday's $420,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions game drawing is Friday night. The numbers from Tuesday night, November 19th, 2024 were 05-35-50-51-59 and the Mega Ball was 08, Megaplier was 4. The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for 20 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were two lucky tickets correctly matched all five lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) sold in PA,TX will collect $1,000,000 cash each.
In addition, 12 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other winners Tuesday evening included 319 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 977 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
There were 140,342 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 70171 grand prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With nine different prize tiers, there were 1,512,550 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and Washington DC. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players in prizes. Around 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
