Saturday's Powerball jackpot leaps to $457,000,000; One ticket matched the first five numbers

The jackpot in the Powerball multi-state lottery game has been rolled up to $457,000,000. The cash option will be $$205 million. The prize amount was rolled over since no player matched all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number in Wednesday's $434,000,000 drawing. The next Powerball lottery drawing is Saturday night. The numbers from Wednesday night, July 8th, 2026 were 12, 29, 37, 43, 55 and Powerball number was 18. Nobody won the Powerball jackpot in the past 29 draws since Monday, May 4th, 2026. The last jackpot was won by two tickets sold in FL and TX, matched all six numbers and split a 20,000,000 top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. There was a sole second prize winner from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching all five numbers but not the Powerball number. The 1 lucky ticket(s) sold in TX, each won $1 million cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 14 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 4 additional players not just matched 4+1, but in addition chose the Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Also, 281 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 78 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 639 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $100. 197 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine prize tiers, there were 511,306 tickets across U.S. won $0 prizes in the Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes but not jackpot. The minimum Powerball grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments in 29 years. Winners can choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
