Saturday's Powerball jackpot increases to $457,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The Powerball lottery grand prize increased because nobody matched all six winning numbers from Wednesday night's $434,000,000 drawing. The next grand prize moved to $457,000,000 for Saturday night's drawing. The cash option stands at an estimated $$205 million up for grab. The numbers drawn Wednesday night, July 8th, 2026 were 12-29-37-43-55 and Powerball was 18. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 29 draws since Monday, May 4th, 2026. The last jackpot was won by two lucky tickets sold in FL and TX, matched all six numbers and split a 20,000,000 top prize.
Although the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winning ticket from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in TX will collect $1,000,000 cash.
Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 14 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash! Other prizes won Wednesday night included 281 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 78 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, and also chose the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Wednesday night included 639 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Powerball and won $100. 197 additional tickets at this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
With nine different prize levels, there were a total of 511,306 tickets across U.S. won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 drawing.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play, choose 5 numbers from a set of 69 and choose 1 Powerball number from a set of 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which increases the winnings except jackpot. The minimum Powerball grand prize is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
