The Mega Millions game jackpot is on the move again. The grand prize for the Friday, November 15th, 2024 drawing will be $387,000,000 with the lump-sum cash payout at an estimated $$181.4 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, November 12th, 2024 were 18, 31, 33, 64, 68 and the Mega Ball was 17, Megaplier was 3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 18 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 15 lucky winners won the third prize. These included 15 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 288 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 864 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
There were 116,300 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 58150 top prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With nine prize tiers, there were 1,360,060 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. Approximately 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70+1/25 system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The overall chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
