The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since no player correctly matched all six numbers in Friday's drawing, the jackpot will move to a projected $277,000,000! The cash value will be an estimated $$120.4 million. The numbers from Friday, May 15th, 2026 drawing were 17-23-25-52-61 and the Mega Ball was 03, Megaplier was .

Although the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 5 third prize lucky winners. These included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Other winners Friday evening included 151 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. 470 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With 9 different prize levels, there were 531,384 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, May 15th, 2026 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prize winnings. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then pick one Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can choose one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
