No jackpot winning ticket sold. Mega Millions jackpot moves to $100,000,000 Friday night

Friday's Mega Millions lottery grand prize climbed to $100,000,000, since no player matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night. The cash option for Friday stands at $$45.3 million. Tuesday's $90,000,000 is the total payout - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annuity. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, May 6th, 2025 were 16-17-43-46-58 and the Mega Ball was 16, Megaplier was .
Though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with big money. 5 third prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. Among them, 5 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 139 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. There were 307 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were 392,716 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
