Enormous Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

The lottery official announced that the Friday, May 3rd, 2024, Mega Millions drawing resulted in a carry over, creating an $306,000,000 grand prize for the next drawing Tuesday. The cash option stands at $$140.1 million. The numbers drawn Friday night, May 3rd, 2024 were 06, 13, 15, 53, 56 with Mega Ball number 11 and Megaplier x2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 11 draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.One lucky winner from NJ walked away with $0 million top prize in Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 drawing.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single ticket that matched the first 5 numbers and won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in SD won a quarter million dollar cash each.
Other prizes won Friday evening included 15 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 307 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 870 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 1,486,928 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, May 3rd, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot in United States lottery history. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prize winnings. Approximately 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. The odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
