Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Tuesday, when Mega Millions has $243,000,000 on the line. The cash option will be an estimated $$108 million. Mega Millions' jackpot increased since no one matched all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number drawn Friday night. The winning numbers from Friday night, June 6th, 2025 were 16, 40, 54, 56, 57 and the Mega Ball was 03, Megaplier was .
Although there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There were a total of 10 third prize winners. These included 10 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 142 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 402 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 553,794 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, June 6th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. Around 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system from which winning numbers are chosen. The odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions jackpot are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can select one lump sum cash payout instead.
