Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $279,000,000; Three second prize tickets sold

The jackpot in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery game continues to go up exciting players all across the nation. Since no player correctly matched all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number in Tuesday's drawing the grand prize will climb to an estimated $279,000,000! The cash option will be an estimated $$131.1 million up for grab. The numbers drawn Friday night, July 19th, 2024 were 10-17-23-50-67 and the Mega Ball was 03, Megaplier was 3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 13 draws since Friday, June 7th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $560 million top prize.

Even though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were three lucky winners correctly matched all five numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The three second prize winning ticket(s) sold in CA,MD,VA will collect $1,000,000 cash each.

Additional prizes won Friday night included 10 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Friday evening included 287 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 927 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With 9 different prize tiers, there were 1,335,922 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, July 19th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play, choose 5 numbers from a set of 70 then pick a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
