Huge Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

No player won Friday night's Mega Millions game drawing, worth $236,000,000, bringing the estimated grand prize on Tuesday to $262,000,000. The cash option stands at an estimated $$123.5 million. The numbers drawn Friday night, January 19th, 2024 were 01, 09, 16, 17, 30 with Mega Ball 17 and Megaplier X2. No one won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past twelve draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single 2nd prize winning ticket from Friday night's drawing, matching the first 5 white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The 1 lucky ticket(s) purchased in NJ, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other major winners Friday evening included 13 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Friday night included 554 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. There were 1065 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
There were 111,538 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 55769 grand prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York. No tickets sold in New York matched 4 lotto numbers as well as the Mega Ball with Megaplier option purchased. These lucky ticket holders will receive $20,000 cash each.
With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 1,226,508 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, January 19th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. can be played in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states.
