Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $180,000,000; One player won the second prize

The multi-state Mega Millions lottery jackpot has leaped to $180,000,000 dollars after there was no jackpot winner in Friday's drawing. The cash option will be a projected $$81.9 million up for grab. The numbers drawn Friday night, January 2nd, 2026 were 06, 13, 34, 43, 52 with Mega Ball 04 and Megaplier x. Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past 81 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.One lucky player from IL won the $344 million top prize in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.

Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was only one ticket that matched all 5 white ball numbers and won the second prize. The one lucky ticket(s) bought in , each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

In addition, 6 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday evening included 173 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. 405 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With nine prize tiers, there were 537,392 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, January 2nd, 2026 drawing.
