No jackpot winning ticket sold last night. Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $130,000,000

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery jackpot climbed to $130,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$55.5 million) Tuesday night when there were no jackpot winners in the $113,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, August 21st, 2026 were 01, 25, 34, 48, 57 with Mega Ball number 24 and Megaplier X. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 147 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.A single lucky winner from IL walked away with $344 million grand prize in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.
Although there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. 1 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. These included 1 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday evening included 112 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 302 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 441,588 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, August 21st, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prizes. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 70 and choose 1 Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
