No jackpot ticket sold. Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $68 million

The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery drawing moved to $68 million for the Tuesday drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be $49.6 million up for grab. None of the tickets sold for Friday's $54 million drawing hit 6 winning numbers. The winning numbers from Friday, February 5th, 2021 drawing were 14, 17, 28, 29, 44 with Mega Ball 02 and Megaplier 4.
While the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There were a total of 26 3rd prize winners. Among them, 26 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other winners Friday night included 436 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. There were 1158 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
There were 100,932 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 50466 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 1,321,316 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, February 5th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. Around 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. The chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
