No one won the jackpot last night. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $198,000,000

There has been another rollover in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions - to $198,000,000. The cash value will be a projected $$89.3 million up for grab. The grand prize grew because no one matched all six numbers from Tuesday night's $182,000,000 drawing. The numbers from Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 drawing were 01-08-31-56-67 with Mega Ball 23 and Megaplier .
Though the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. 6 3rd prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. Among them, 6 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Also, 127 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 322 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 411,800 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
