Friday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $60,000,000; One ticket matched the first 5 numbers

The jackpot in the Mega Millions multistate lottery game continues moving up and is going to be up to a projected $60,000,000 for the next drawing on Friday. The cash value will be a projected $$26.9 million up for grab. The amount was rolled over since no player hit all six numbers to win the $50,000,000 jackpot Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 drawing were 25, 39, 49, 52, 65 with Mega Ball number 22 and Megaplier . There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past eight draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.One lucky winner from IL walked away with $344 million jackpot in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.
While the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was a sole lucky player that matched the first five white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one lucky ticket(s) purchased in WA, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other winners Tuesday night included 100 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 297 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 376,744 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game can be played in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prize winnings. About 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump sum cash payout instead.
