Mega Millions jackpot goes to $130,000,000 Friday; One second prize ticket sold

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot is on the move again. The jackpot for the Friday, April 17th, 2026 drawing builds to $130,000,000 with the cash option at $$58 million. The numbers from Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 drawing were 17, 21, 24, 57, 69 with Mega Ball 12 and Megaplier x.

Although the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winner from Tuesday night's drawing, matching all five white ball numbers except the Mega Ball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.

Other prizes won Tuesday night included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 106 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 304 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.

With 9 ways to win, there were 417,716 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
