Powerball jackpot climbs to $295,000,000; Two players matched the first 5 numbers

The jackpot in America's favorite Powerball lottery game continues to move up exciting players all across the nation. Because no player correctly hit all five white ball numbers plus the Powerball number in Saturday's drawing the grand prize will jump to a projected $295,000,000! The cash option will be $$147.9 million. The winning numbers from Wednesday night, October 2nd, 2024 were 01-02-21-37-43 and Powerball number was 21. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 19 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a 44,000,000 top prize.
Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. There were two lucky tickets correctly matched all five lotto numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The 2 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in IL(1) and IN(1) will collect 1 million dollar cash.
Also, 9 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 4 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash! Other winners Wednesday night included 243 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 85 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, and also chose the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 700 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 244 additional players not just matched 3+1, and also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine different prize levels, there were 506,367 tickets nationwide won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 drawing.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game.
