Massive Powerball jackpot up for grabs Monday night

The Powerball game jackpot is on the move again. The grand prize for the Monday, March 3rd, 2025 drawing goes to $279,000,000 with the cash option of a projected $$131.5 million. The winning numbers from Saturday, March 1st, 2025 drawing were 02-23-36-44-49 and Powerball number was 25. Nobody won the Powerball jackpot in the past 18 draws since Monday, January 20th, 2025. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in OR, matched all six numbers for a 331,000,000 top prize.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winner from Saturday night's drawing, matching all 5 numbers but not the Powerball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in MI won $1 million cash.
Additional prizes won Saturday night included 11 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other winners Saturday evening included 327 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 92 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but also chose the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Saturday evening included 733 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $100. 227 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
There were 47,810 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. Two tickets sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers in addition to the Powerball. These lucky ticket holders will receive $10,000 cash each. 92 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will collect $100 each. There were 16 lucky New Yorkers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine different prize tiers, the Saturday night's drawing created 615,136 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 member states as a shared jackpot game. Powerball uses a 5/69+1/26 system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the original winnings but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
