Wednesday's Powerball jackpot climbs to $65,000,000; 1 player matched the first five numbers

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize jumped to $65,000,000 (cash value $$29.2 million) Wednesday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $54,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Monday, June 9th, 2025 drawing were 30-33-40-43-52 with Power Ball number 25.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was only one 2nd prize winning ticket from Monday night's drawing, matching the first 5 numbers but not the Powerball number. The one lucky ticket(s) purchased in CA, each won 1 million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Monday evening included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional players not only matched 4+1, but also purchased the Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other winners Monday night included 99 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 45 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, and also bought the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 284 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 107 additional players not just matched 3+1, but in addition purchased the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
There were 19,482 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. A single ticket sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball. The lucky ticket holder will collect $10,000 cash. 36 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. There were 7 lucky New Yorkers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine ways to win, the Monday night's drawing produced 243,909 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Powerball game uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes except jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The odds of matching 6 Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
